When the surface goes calm and fish are pushing baitfish up top, this is the one we tie on. A compact walk-the-dog pencil that glides side to side with almost no effort — and gets crushed when predators are looking up.
Its slim profile and balanced weight move it into a smooth, rhythmic zigzag on a steady retrieve. The smaller 2.8g size carries an internal rattle to call fish through choppy or murky water; the 5.8g size uses fixed steel balls for longer, steadier casts. Both finish with black-nickel treble hooks and lifelike 3D eyes.
Why it’s a daily driver
- Effortless walk-the-dog — a smooth side-to-side glide on simple twitches.
- Two sound options — rattle (2.8g) for low-clarity water, fixed weights (5.8g) for distance.
- Sharp black-nickel trebles — corrosion resistant and needle-point ready.
- Lifelike 3D eyes and profile — triggers the upward strike.
- Six proven finishes — from natural shad to high-visibility chartreuse.
How to work it
- Tie direct with a Palomar or improved clinch knot — no split ring needed.
- Best at first light, dusk, and overcast low-light days; calm to lightly choppy water.
- Retrieve take up slack while twitching the rod tip down in short pulses, then pause — most hits come on the pause.
- Work grass lines, points, docks, laydowns, and shallow flats where baitfish get pushed up.
